We are delighted to work with parents to provide our parish children strong, enriching, and spirit-filled faith formation. On Sunday, a quick walk down our Assisi Center Hallways showcases that we have a great time learning through story, music, crafts, and games. Over sixty catechists and volunteers are committed to creating an environment that is safe, nurturing, and fun! In 2014/2015 we instructed 600 children, age three to grade five, about Jesus Christ and our Catholic faith.

Each Advent and Lent our fourth and fifth graders devote extra time to the care and concern of others. This past December, they made and decorated cookies and cards that were delivered to local nursing homes. In March, these children worked with the KIC-IT organization creating emergency supply kits for local area youth facing homelessness.

We offer all our Religious Education (RE) and sacramental preparation sessions without charging a fee to our registered parishioners. It is due to the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure of our Saints Francis & Clare family that we are able to offer a fee-free program. We appreciate that you prayerfully support these programs with your own stewardship efforts. Thank you for your generosity!

    First Communion/First Reconciliation

    First Communion / First Reconciliation

What a joy it was to watch over 100 Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi children come into full communion with the Catholic Church. Our SSFC priests, deacons, teachers, catechists and staff involved with the sacrament preparation process are passionate to insure both parents and students are offered the best opportunity to celebrate the fullness of each Sacrament.

Students traditionally prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist during their second grade year.   However, families come to us at all stages in their faith life and we look forward to working with children to prepare them for these spiritual milestones whenever they join us. Our BRIDGES class is designed to teach those children and youth in grades three through eight more about our Catholic faith and prepare them to receive the sacraments for which they are ready.

We hope you and your family will join us as we visit the Maker Fun Factory, where we learn to look for God’s creativity in the world around us.  Each evening adults and children will join together to explore the stories and teachings of sacred Scripture and learn about the beliefs and practices of our Church.  We will sing, dance, pray, play and HAVE FUN!  Dinner will be offered each evening.  Families will attend VBS together and remain together throughout the evening.
WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS-adult and youth!  Please contact Patricia McGill
if you are interested in joining our planning committee, leading a program area (games, music, Bible story, etc.), helping with childcare, publicity, volunteer recruitment, etc.  It takes many hands to make VBS a success and we are excited to bring it back to SSFC.
