The world-renown Notre Dame Folk Choir will perform at Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi (SSFC) on Monday, May 22 at 7:00 pm in church. The Choir will be traveling through the Midwest on a 14-day tour and SSFC will be one of their first stops! After travelling on tours through Australia and Ireland the last two years, the Notre Dame Folk Choir will be travelling through the Midwest on a 14-day tour this year. Saints Francis and Clare is one of their first stops as life-long parishioner Joe Wolf is a senior member of this choir. A hallmark of the choir is that their concerts are not one where the audience members are spectators, but active participants. As a liturgical choir, they exist to inspire the song of the assembly and aid in their prayer and joyful expression. Tours are seen as pilgrimages from one faith community to another. The 14-day Heartland Spring Tour of 2017 will include a visit to two prisons, Roncalli High School, 11 concerts in four states, three masses, and a National Pastoral Musicians workshop.
