The Youth Ministry coordinates the annual parish mission trip to Kentucky to improve the physical living conditions of the less fortunate people in that area. It also helps to fund the expenses of the materials needed for the various projects, which range from general home repairs to building new roofs.
The Mission Ministry also coordinates local mission projects. In the past, those projects have included working on the homes of flood victims, assisting with a Habitat for Humanity build, and putting together parish teams to work with Angels of the Heart and Rebuilding Together - Indianapolis.
Last summer, Saints Francis & Clare parishioners, adults and youth, made a week-long mission trip to Eastern Kentucky to be the hands and feet of Jesus. These are exhilarating and exhausting trips that involve a lot of physical labor. Last year, they built emergency exits, jacked up floors, installed a frame and underpinnings for a trailer, added an 8’x12’ room and put up siding around a home. This is just a sampling of the projects they completed.
If you or a youth is interested in participating on one of our Mission Trips, please contact Monica Robinson, our Youth Ministry Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
