    Youth Athletics

Athletic Director - Michael Pawlik -

Our Athletics Ministry encompasses a variety of activities for all skill sets and many grade levels. Boys and girls can choose from fall, winter, and spring sports. Most teams participate in the CYO leagues of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

Please read the bulletin article found here about changes to the ministry in 2018.

We are grateful for our volunteer coaches who step up to give children the chance to experience playing on a team. Our sports program has a variety of skill levels available to all participants. We are proud of our trophy case in the St. Clare Hall entry way, which has been growing since we started our sports program in 2004.

    How it Works: Athletes

Our athletics program serves children from schools located all over the south side of Indianapolis.  CYO sports leagues are open to parish and school children. In some sports for which there are multiple teams per grade, there are evaluations by coaches and administrators for team assignments.

    CYO (Catholic Youth Organization)

We have a relationship with the Indianapolis Archdiocese CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). This organization coordinates all Catholic athletic teams for all sports. They create a season schedule for each team which our coaches and Athletic Director share with parents and teams. The coordination and availability of all Catholic facilities and referees is a large undertaking. We rely on their expertise to match us to opponents, dates, times, and locations.

We have registration deadlines for each sport. We work within the CYO's deadlines for having teams formed and submitted for each season. Open registrations are posted in the church bulletin and the school's weekly newsletter.

Fees for each sport vary depending on the requirement of the CYO league. As Athletics is considered a ministry, we feel it is important to give all children the opportunity to play; therefore, If for some reason, this fee is a burden, please contact the Athletics Director.

    Practices & Games

Practice and game times and days vary. We rely on volunteer coaches and one facility for practices. We take all of these factors into consideration when making the schedules. Please note that some teams do have games during extended breaks due to varying school calendars throughout the Archdiocese.

We rely on volunteer coaches to lead and coordinate our teams.  We are grateful to our coaches as they share their time and talent and help our athletes improve on their skills.  They also teach our athletes good sportsmanship and the importance of teamwork.
All coaches are required to participate in the Safe & Sacred Training as well as "Play Like a Champion" training.  If you are interested in helping coach a team, please contact our Athletics Director.

All parents and spectators are expected to help every child's involvement be a positive experience. We ask that they demonstrate Christian values of self-restraint, fair play, and sportsmanship at every practice and game. They should place the emotional and physical well-being of each child ahead of any personal desire to win.
