Saint Francis & Clare of Assisi's 8th graders will perform Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Friday, February 16th at 6:30 pm in Roncalli High School's Auditorium. It is a tradition of the eighth graders to pick, practice and perform a musical to cap-off their experience at Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Catholic School. Tickets are available in the school office and online at www.ss-fc.org/musical. Cost is $8/adults, $5/students and children 5 years old and under are FREE. Don't miss this wonderful musical!

The Feast of St. Blaise, the patron saint of throat illnesses, animals, wool combers, and wool trading, is Saturday, February 3. In honor of his feast day, throats will be blessed during the 8:00 am Saturday morning Mass and at all weekend Masses. St Blaise, according to legend, cured a boy of choking on a fish bone and, since then, he has been invoked as an intercessor for good health. Father Steve Giannini and Father Dave Marcotte will be blessing of throats before or after Weekend Masses on February 3 & 4.

School enrollment for current families is coming to a close. It is imperative that our current families understand that the window for new families will open on January 15th. Due to current enrollment, availability may be limited in the following grade levels for the 2018-2019 school year: 4th grade and 6th grade Therefore, as a current family it is important to enroll your child prior to the new family enrollment period which begins Monday, January 15, 2018. The annual Chili Cook-Off will be Saturday, January 27th, starting immediately after the 5:30 pm mass. Join us for a family fun-filled event to taste a variety of chili, spend time with our SSFC community, and participate in a live auction supporting our Godparent Fund. The Godparent Fund provides tuition assistance to our school families who need a little help in order to attend our wonderful school. Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi's Parish Offices will be CLOSED on Monday, January 15th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Due to a snow day on Friday, January 12, the SCHOOL will be OPEN on MLK Day. The ECM (Early Childhood Ministry) will remain OPEN on that day for their regular hours.

Tuesday, November 1 is All Saints Day and is a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION. We will have masses at 6:30 am, 8:15 am, noon and 6:30 pm. Wednesday, November 2 is All Souls Day. There will be a Columbarium Blessing at 5:30 pm. We will be remembering the recent passing of our loved ones at a special Remembrance Mass at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome!

7th Grade Student from Saints Francis & Clare attends Junior National Young Leaders Conference and Walks in the Footsteps of U.S. Leaders Washington, D.C. - Olivia Jackson, a seventh grader at Saints Francis & Clare Catholic School, was selected to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. last month. Outstanding middle school students from across the United States took part in an extraordinary leadership development experience at the 2017 Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC), an Envision program that provides a historical view of leadership and encourages young scholars to develop their own leadership skills and strategies for success in the 21st century. Welcome back everyone! School begins back at Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Catholic School on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. There is an EARLY DISMISSAL at 1:00 pm on this day and the following day, Thursday, August 3. Also on morning of August 2, there is a Coffee and Prayer Event in St. Clare Hall at 7:45 am. Normal hours of school are: Drop off begins at 6:50 am. School begins at 7:50 am and lets out at 3:15 pm. Aftercare is available until 6:00 pm

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi School will be holding a "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" Open House on Sunday, July 30th, from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm. Classrooms will be open and all SSFC staff will be available to answer questions. Spirit wear will be for sale too! This is a great time to make sure your child knows where their classroom is and to ask any last minute questions.

Voting ends on this Wednesday , July 19th. Have you cast your vote yet? The chapel is going to be repainted and YOU can help choose the two colors! Choose between 3 white colors and 3 grey colors. The paint samples have been painted on a wall in our Blessed Sacrament chapel so you can compare. The white color chosen will be used on the majority of the chapel and the grey color will be used on the wall that holds the lit white candles. Ballots are in the chapel. Choose one of the white colors and one of the gray colors, sign the ballot and put it in the ballot box. It's YOUR chance to have a voice in how the chapel is decorated.

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi's RE/YM Registration for 2017/2018 is open! You can access the on-line registration via the following link: tinyurl.com/ssfc-reym17 . Three weeks remain in our open registration period! If your child will turn two prior to Aug. 1 this year, up through the senior year of high school, we have a faith formation program for them! All families with children in this age range should have received an e-mail with this link as well as general registration information. Registrations are requested by July 30 so that we can secure an adequate number of catechists and resources.
